This tree has a narrow, upright growth habit with transparent crown. It reaches between 15 and 20 metres in height. Critically, it is resistant to the current strains of Dutch elm disease. The leaves are small, scalloped and green in colour.  It is ideally suited to planting in urban environments and coastal areas.   It grows in sandy soils as well as clay soils and is also tolerant of wet soils. It is alkaline loving.
